“But I’m not dead!”, Singer Renaud reframes his twin brother!

On October 16, the “Putain Expo”, which traces the life of Renaud, began at the Philharmonie de Paris. A project imagined in particular by his twin brother David, and which, at the base, did not please Renaud much …

Renaud can boast of having known how to build a great career in music. With his dozens of hits and his thousands of fans, the singer has become an emblematic figure of the French music scene. And it has already made history. David Séchan, twin brother of Renaud, director of the music publishing company Encore Merci, vice-president of SACEM and historical photographer of the artist paid tribute to him with an exhibition of his monumental collection of photographs of him. An idea which, at the start, did not really please Renaud. The interpreter of Mistral winner first reframed his brother. “An exhibition? But I’m not dead,” he told her.

But after being reluctant, Renaud ended up getting involved in this crazy project, even going so far as to dig into his archives and his memories to feed this retrospective. The exhibition titled “Putin ‘Expo! Has therefore been open to the public since October 16, then closed due to confinement.

“I know that, in reality, he is particularly proud to be honored during his lifetime”, had assured the twin of Renaud in the columns of Paris Match. David Séchan was right: “It would be a kind of retrospective of my life as a singer, it would appear. A friend told me that it ‘smelled like a tree’ but I don’t care a bit, I like this smell that reminds me of the sweet Christmases of my childhood. An exhibition of his (my) living – or what remains of it – is frankly not ordinary, must be said. It is a great honor for a singer annoying that has not yet quite settled and who intends never to arrive at this lack of good manners, “ said Renaud on the museum website.
